Fixing
Red screen or freeze during a game
updated Oct 29, 2026
During a game, a piece of the app code (usually the video decoder) shows up altered in memory and the app freezes or shows the red screen. Since 0.21.39 a guard checks and restores the code all the time, which greatly reduced the cases; it still happens when the altered part runs before it is restored. We are tracking the cause with the records the app saves.

Built-in Wi-Fi does not start on some consoles
updated Oct 29, 2026
On some Xbox 360 S/E consoles the app cannot find the built-in Wi-Fi adapter ("not on EHCI"). 0.21.43 already made Wi-Fi turn on from the menu after starting with a cable and retry after a failure. On the consoles that still fail, the adapter seems to be on a USB port the app does not recognize; 0.21.44 shows what is on each port on the error screen so we can identify it. Meanwhile, use a network cable.

Input and video delay
updated Oct 29, 2026
We measured the delay inside the console: each frame spends about 55 ms in the decoder, because it uses 4 threads at once to hold 60 FPS at 4 Mb/s (with fewer threads the delay drops, but the picture stutters in heavy scenes). Reducing it requires changing the decoder and is being studied. In some games the feeling of aim delay comes from the stick dead zone: adjust it in Settings > Controllers.

Update goes back to the old version
updated Oct 29, 2026
When the app asks to restart and comes back outdated, XeLL is opening another xenon.elf (from another USB stick or the HDD), not the one the app updated. Update by replacing the xenon.elf that XeLL opens, without deleting the XC360 folder. We are looking at how the app can detect and warn about this.
