Fixing

Red screen or freeze during a game

updated Oct 29, 2026

During a game, a piece of the app code (usually the video decoder) shows up altered in memory and the app freezes or shows the red screen. Since 0.21.39 a guard checks and restores the code all the time, which greatly reduced the cases; it still happens when the altered part runs before it is restored. We are tracking the cause with the records the app saves.

Built-in Wi-Fi does not start on some consoles

updated Oct 29, 2026

On some Xbox 360 S/E consoles the app cannot find the built-in Wi-Fi adapter ("not on EHCI"). 0.21.43 already made Wi-Fi turn on from the menu after starting with a cable and retry after a failure. On the consoles that still fail, the adapter seems to be on a USB port the app does not recognize; 0.21.44 shows what is on each port on the error screen so we can identify it. Meanwhile, use a network cable.

Input and video delay

updated Oct 29, 2026

We measured the delay inside the console: each frame spends about 55 ms in the decoder, because it uses 4 threads at once to hold 60 FPS at 4 Mb/s (with fewer threads the delay drops, but the picture stutters in heavy scenes). Reducing it requires changing the decoder and is being studied. In some games the feeling of aim delay comes from the stick dead zone: adjust it in Settings > Controllers.

Testing

Beta key does not activate or the app asks for it again

updated Oct 29, 2026

Almost all cases came from generating a new key (each new key disables the previous one) and from a USB stick that does not save (front USB port). The site now shows the current key and tells you to always use the same one; 0.21.44 shows on screen when the key was mistyped (keeping what you typed) or was replaced on the site. Use the USB stick in a back port.

Update goes back to the old version

updated Oct 29, 2026

When the app asks to restart and comes back outdated, XeLL is opening another xenon.elf (from another USB stick or the HDD), not the one the app updated. Update by replacing the xenon.elf that XeLL opens, without deleting the XC360 folder. We are looking at how the app can detect and warn about this.

Fixed

Freeze at startup with USB devices

updated Oct 29, 2026

The app froze at startup with certain USB devices (wired controller, receivers, accessories that do not respond). Fixed in 0.21.41 and 0.21.43. Still recommended: USB stick in a back USB port, and plug the wired controller in before turning on the Xbox or with the menu already open (not during the startup screen).

The on-screen keyboard that games open appeared but did not accept keys. Fixed in 0.21.40.

Match logs did not reach the team

updated Oct 29, 2026

What happened inside the game was only sent if you stayed in the menu afterwards. Since 0.21.43, when you leave the game the app shows "Sending the match log" and sends everything in a few seconds. This helps solve your reports.

1080p unavailable or picture in 720p

updated Oct 29, 2026

xCloud sends the video in 720p to the app. 1080p output only exists on Corona/Winchester boards and upscales that picture; older boards (such as Trinity) stay at 720p. Sharpness depends on your internet: with an unstable connection xCloud lowers the quality.

Third-party (non-original) controllers

updated Oct 29, 2026

Third-party controllers do not work in the app yet. It is noted as a future feature, with no date. Use an original Xbox 360 controller.

Session ended by xCloud

updated Oct 29, 2026

Messages such as "xCloud ended the session" (for example KickForAppError) come from Microsoft servers: the game failed in the cloud or the session expired. Open the game again; if the next one does not open without restarting the Xbox, send a photo in your report.
